We are so excited that you are interested in learning more about Brownell’s Before and After School Community Learning Center (CLC) Programs. We are looking forward to this school year!
Brownell CLC is a place where students come to become a leader in both the classroom and the community. While we recognize that the CLC team plays an important part in building up each student, we also recognize that we can’t do it all on our own. Using collaboration, we will seek advice and perspective from the community that will supplement the work that the CLC does from day to day. This collaboration is not a one way street though. It is our hope we will be able to improve the environments to which the students spend most of their time: at home and in their neighborhoods.
While the majority of people think the Brownell CLC is before and after school care, that is only partly true. We do have before and after school programming for families that need care for their children while they work. Brownell’s CLC also provides academic & enrichment clubs 4 times during the school year. We work with community businesses and neighbors to provide family engagement opportunities such as movie nights, free shop spots, Pizza Hut Book-it Reading challenges and various other activities.
We have an amazing team of staff who are passionate about building relationships with students and are essential to the success of this program!
